8 Do's and Don'ts during planning Pregnancy

Image
When a couple plans for a baby, the process starts with lots of excitement and positivity. In fact, few lucky ones get pregnant in one or two try, but most of us would take nearly six months to a year to get pregnant. But what if it goes beyond that? It can really pull down all the positivity and energy. Conceiving naturally can get really hard for some of us.To add it up, if any of our family or friend conceives sooner, it adds extra stress and pressure on us. It causes turmoil of emotions, but there are certain Do's and Dont's which can help us overcome this emotional lockdown. 1.Don't Compare While your are trying for a baby, you surely know someone who is also trying for one. Don't compare yourself to them if they happen to conceive sooner, as you really don't know since how long they have been trying. Comparing yourself with others can create inferiority complex and affects pregnancy. Two persons are different and so is their process of pregnancy..

What's the right age to introduce books to babies?

Image
“A room without books is like a body without a soul". This say completely defines me. I love books. Infact during my pregnancy, more that 2 hours a day were just spent on reading books from different genres. And being a book lover, I always wanted my baby to have a liking towards it. But how does one do that? Is it really possible? How soon can I introduce books to my baby? I will share you my experience of how I created this important bond between BOOKS and BABIES. 1. Start as soon as you conceive  I know it does sound weird to read book to a baby who is just 5 weeks old and that too in your tummy. I had started reading to my baby by 7th week of my pregnancy . As i loved reading, I unknowingly started reading it out to my baby also. 2. Read it loud Whatever you are reading read it loud . It may be of any genre. Baby can listen in the womb from 4th month . Having unprotected intercourse leads to pregnancy, but not every intercourse leads to pregnancy . Most of us know, that having sex leads to pregnancy, but most of us don't know what actually happens after sex that leads to pregnancy. First let us understand what are the major organs of a women's reproductive system that play role in Pregnancy. - Uterus - Ovaries - Fallopine Tubes - Cervix - Vagina Now let's understand how SEX Leads to PREGNANCY . On around 14th day, from the start date of period cycle, only ONE MATURE EGG is released from either of the ovaries. This is called as ovalution. 3. After the release of the egg, it travels to either of the two fallopine tubes. 4. The egg stays in the fallopine tubes for the next 48 hours maximum, waiting for a sperm to penetrate and fertilize it. 5. On having

Is MOTHER the ONLY OWNER of a CHILD?

Image
I know it's little rude to call yourself the owner of your child. But deep inside that's the feeling each mother has, that thought " It's only me who has the right to decide what is right, what is wrong, what to make her eat, when to make her sleep, how to handle her tantrums, manage her during her breakdowns, everything". But is that really reasonable? 1 . A child is not anyone's owenership. A baby is not a ownership of anyone, not even the parents, we have just physically bought them into this world. We obviously think about our-self as owners as we have given them birth but have we created them? It's God's creation , we are just care takers and should not become decision makers. But for second thought, if not we,then who will decide, as they are too small to decide what they should do?  2 .Be care takers and not decision makers We should fulfil the basic needs of the baby when they demand, like feed when they hungry, make them sleep whe

During the early years of childhood a baby's weight and height are the basic parameters to measure it's normal growth . Especially, mother of a new born baby is most paranoid about babies weight more that it's height. In the initial 6 months after birth, baby's normal weight growth is the biggest sign that the baby is healthy.  On average, babies need to gain from birth to three months 150-200 grams per week . We generally allow for a two-week time frame after birth for them to regain their birth weight. From three to six months a gain of 100-150 grams per week . From six to 12 months a gain of 70-90 grams per week . As boys and girls are physically different, the ideal height and weight for a boy and a girl is also different. Below is the chart showing ideal weight and height for both the genders upto 5 years. BABY GIRL GROWTH CHART BABY BOY GROWTH CHART These are just average range of height and weight.
