Why am I not getting pregnant? Here are 7 Mistakes.

Being unsuccessful in conceiving after multiple attempts, raises a question amongst every couple "Are We Infertile" ?. The answer is NO not necessarily. Though fertility is one of the key factor which can delay pregnancy but not the only factor. Even a fertile couple can take longer than normal time to conceive. The ideal time a healthy fertile couple takes to get pregnant is anywhere between 6-12 months.

Even after all odds being in your favor  i.e you are living healthy lifestyle, Fertile, age is less than 35 years and still not conceiving is brain storming. Below mentioned are the 7 mistakes that can delay your pregnancy.

-INCORRECT TIMING
Having sex while ovaluting increases the chances of pregnancy. But most of us don't know the exact date of ovalution. Using an ovalution kit does help. The body also gives signs when it enters the fertile period which is usually between day 8th-14th from the LMP date. Having sex during this fertile window is important rather that waiting for the day of ovalution. Most of us have sex on the day of ovalution or post that but it's important to have sex before the ovalution to convince. There is a long process that happens after sex that leads to pregnancy.

- OVER DOING or UNDER DOING
Ideally while trying to conceive, couples must have sex every alternate day during the fertile window.Underdoing it will reduce the chances of sperm meeting the egg. While overdoing it i.e doing it daily during the fertile days will reduce the sperm count again risking the chances of pregnancy.

- DEEP PENETRATION
During the intercourse if the penetration is not deep enough to reach the cervix, the sperms are leaked at vagina opening and swim downwards rather than travelling upwards. This results in sperm leaking out and not entering the women's body. While planning pregnancy having deep penetration helps the sperms to swim upto the uterus, helping to conceive faster.

- POSITION
Different couples prefer different positions but there are certain positions which help the sperms to swim up and avoids the leakage of the semen post ejaculation. Mostly those positions are where the male is on the upper side and female is in below position. While planning, make sure to use such position which doesn't let the sperm leak out of female body. Keep trying different positions, as different positions work for different couples.

- MOVING OUT TOO EARLY
There have been many researches stating that, post the ejacuation, a women should lie on the bed keeping a pillow below the back and legs elevated for 15 minutes. This usually prevents maximum semen from leaking out of vagina and helping them swim towards the uterus. Elevation also helps when there is no deep penetration, as it reduces the outflow of semen.

- PERFORMANCE PRESSURE
You will hear from many couples that "We conceived when we actually stopped trying". Having sex with the pressure to get pregnant might delay your pregnancy. Stress to perform better ends up affecting the entire process. The anxiety may lead to early ejaculation or no ejaculation at all.Let the process be out of love.

- PISSING OFF
Most of us would jump out of the bed soon after having sex and would want to clean all the mess at the earliest. But going to the loo and pissing off may also cause the semens in the vagina to flow out and reduce the chances of pregnancy. Hold on atleast for 30 minutes before you piss it off. After having sex, it's also adviced to elevate your legs, so staying in bed for longer serves both and helps semen stay longer and travel faster.

These are some of the common mistakes that most of the couple's do unknowingly. Discussing them with our friends or family is not always comfortable, so they have been specifically mentioned here. Apart from these, there could be other reasons also which affect your chances of getting pregnant directly or indirectly.

Hoping that you have found out the mistake that is hindering your pregnancy. All the best and Stay positive.
